Lucknow, March 20 -- Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A K Sharma Friday stated that approximately 4,000 MW of additional capacity has been added over the last year, while work is currently underway to install over 5,000 MW of new capacity in 2026.

Participating in the ''India Electricity Summit 2026''-organized by the union Ministry of Power -the State Energy Minister effectively presented the achievements and future plans of the energy sector.
