Jamshedpur, March 23 -- A 227-kg suspected explosive device recovered from the banks of the Subarnarekha river in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district will be defused by a specialised team of the Indian Army, officials said on Monday.
The object was found in the Panipara area under Bahragora police station limits and has been assessed as a live bomb during preliminary examination, prompting heightened alert in the area.
Police have secured the site and restricted public movement, while seeking assistance from the Army. A technical team reached the spot and began assessment of the device.
