Panchkula, Sept. 9 -- In a remarkable act of courage amid an unimaginable personal tragedy, the family of a 30-year-old Rajasthan woman, wife of a serving Army soldier and mother of two young children, donated her heart, liver, two kidneys and corneas after she was declared brain-dead at the Command Hospital (Western Command), Chandimandir Cantt.
The organs are expected to give a fresh lease of life to four critically ill patients, while her corneas are expected to restore sight to two others.
The donor, Sanju Gurjar, a native of Bhilwara in Rajasthan, was declared brain-dead at around 9 pm on Tuesday after completion of the prescribed medical and legal procedures.
