Una(HP), June 30 -- Army Havildar Vishambar Singh, a resident of Malangad Miyan village in Una district, was laid to rest Tuesday.
His 11-year-old son, Akshit, lit the funeral pyre amid slogans of 'Vishambar Singh Amar Rahe'.
Earlier, hundreds of people bid him a tearful farewell, and the last rites were performed with full state honors.
Vishambar Singh is survived by his parents, his wife, and two sons-aged six months and 11 years.
Chants of "Vishambar Singh Amar Rahe" (Long live Vishambar Singh) echoed throughout the area during the funeral procession.
