Dharamshala, April 30 -- In a bid to ensure peaceful, free and fair conduct of the upcoming Municipal Corporation Elections-2026 and Panchayati Raj Elections-2026, District Magistrate Hemraj Bairwa has ordered a complete ban on carrying firearms and other lethal weapons in Kangra district.
Exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, the District Magistrate directed that no individual, except law enforcement agencies, will be permitted to carry any kind of weapon within the district limits.
