Kannur, Aug. 21 -- The Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAPPA) has been invoked against Arjun Ayanki, who has been accused in nine criminal cases over the past seven years. He has been ordered to be placed under preventive detention at Kannur Central Jail.

The preventive detention order was issued after Kannur City Police Commissioner submitted a recommendation to the district administration. Kannur District Collector P. Vishnuraj approved the recommendation, citing Ayanki's alleged involvement in multiple criminal cases.
