Buenos Aires, June 7 -- Argentina legend Maxi Rodriguez has backed compatriot Lionel Messi to remain a decisive force at the FIFA World Cup 2026, saying the captain's relentless hunger for success continues to drive him despite already conquering world football.
Speaking to FIFA ahead of the tournament, Rodriguez said Messi remains motivated by the prospect of making history again with Argentina as the reigning champions prepare to defend the title they won in Qatar in 2022.
"Messi is fuelled by his hunger for glory and his desire to make history again. He keeps going - nothing can stop him," Rodriguez said.
