Bengaluru, Sept. 3 -- The September 10 Karnataka Apex Bank election has once again exposed the underlying political fault lines within the ruling Congress, with a fresh face-off brewing between the camps of Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and senior Congress leader KN Rajanna.
The election, which had earlier become a flashpoint in the reported Rajanna-Shivakumar rivalry, was deferred following the intervention of the Congress high command. Nearly eight months later, the issue has returned to the political centre-stage, this time with both camps keen to influence the choice of the bank's president.
