Vijayawada, Feb. 25 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Transport M Ramprasad Reddy has said that the AP Government has spent Rs 1,660 crore to implement a free bus travel scheme for women and announced that the Cabinet has decided to provide free bus travel to differently abled people also.
Speaking on the discussion on Budget in the Assembly on Wednesday, he said that the number of women travelers increased by 65 percent after implementation of free bus travel for women.
The Minister told the Assembly that the Naidu headed government started implementing the free bus travel scheme on August 15, 2025, adding that free bus travel has been provided for women in the city ordinary, city express, pallevelugu, ultra palle velugu and express buses....
