Ballari, March 26 -- A 36-year-old man from Ballari city has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh Police on charges of allegedly spreading extremist propaganda online and maintaining links with banned terrorist organisations, police sources said on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Abdul Salam, a resident under Kaul Bazaar police station limits, was taken into custody on Tuesday night following specific intelligence inputs. He was tracked down and apprehended near Dhara Mill in Ballari by a special police team from Andhra Pradesh.

Subsequently, with assistance from local police, a search (panchanama) was conducted at his residence before he was produced before a court and taken to Vijayawada for further investigation.
