Kakinada, Nov. 6 -- Andhra Pradesh Kisan Congress Chairman Kamana Prabhakar Rao on Friday urged the State and Central governments to extend immediate financial assistance to farmers who suffered crop losses due to cyclones Arnab and Murasu.
Addressing a press conference here, he demanded a complete loan waiver for farmers and sanction of fresh interest-free loans to help them recover from the losses.
He said farmers across the State were facing severe difficulties due to the El Nino effect and the damage caused by the two cyclones.
Prabhakar Rao sought extension of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme to all districts and provision of 200 days of employment to rural households.
