Vijayawada, April 23 -- Andhra Pradesh government will distribute over 6.89 lakh mosquito nets to the people free of cost to protect them from malaria.

Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav in a statement here on Wednesday said that the Medical and Health Department has started the distribution of mosquito nets (Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets -LLINs) free of cost across the State to prevent malaria.

"The Medical and Health Department has set a target of distributing 6,89,421 mosquito nets free of cost to 7.80 lakh people (1.95 lakh families) in the State at a cost of Rs 19.25 crore.
