Kakinada, Sept. 21 -- Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday inaugurated the modernised Mysamma Cheruvu in Fakruddinpalem village and the `Pithikapura Vanam' park in Pithapuram as part of his two-day tour of the constituency.
The Mysamma Cheruvu was developed as a model tank at a cost of Rs 73 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said the objective of modernising village tanks was to develop them not only as water reservoirs but also as centres for health, recreation and community activities.
A walking track, children's park and open-air gym were developed on the tank bund.
The Deputy Chief Minister unveiled a plaque marking the modernisation of 11 tanks in the constituency at a total cost of Rs 6 crore.
