Vijayawada, Sept. 16 -- The YSRCP Doctors Wing on Wednesday urged the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) to take immediate steps to prevent the circulation of spurious and Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) drugs across Andhra Pradesh.
A high-level delegation submitted a representation to M Pandu Ranga Prasad, Director (FAC), DCA, seeking immediate and time-bound action to curb the circulation of such drugs in the state.
Highlighting the official data which revealed that the State Drug Control Laboratory declared 77 drugs as NSQ in 2023-24, 40 in 2024-25, and 29 in the current year, the leaders warned that these figures represent only a fraction of tested samples, risking widespread treatment failures and preventable tragedies.
