Narasaraopet, Sept. 1 -- Two siblings allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide after being rebuked by their mother at Talluru village of Krosur mandal in Palnadu district on Tuesday.
Sub-inspector Ravi Babu said that Lankoti Koteswara Rao (29) and Lankoti Sitaramaiah (26) were siblings and they were addicted to alcohol. Their mother rebuked them for consuming alcohol daily.
Disgusted with this, they laced pesticide with soft drink and consumed it. They were admitted to the government hospital in Sattenapalli where Koteswara Rao died in the wee hours while Sitaramaiah was shifted to the GGH in Guntur for better treatment but he also died on Tuesday.
The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem.
