Anantapur, May 26 -- A lorry driver was burned alive in a collision on the NH 44 on the outskirts of Penukonda town in Puttaparthi district in the wee hours on Monday.
Divisional Fire Officer Venkatesh told the media that a lorry was going to Bangalore from Hyderabad with a potato load. The lorry collided head on with a wheat laden lorry which was going to Hyderabad. After the collision, flames erupted in one of the lorries which engulfed the two lorries within minutes.
The driver of the wheat laden lorry, Venkatesh (35) was struck in the lorry cabin and could not come out.
The fire brigade rushed and extinguished the flames but by the time both the lorries were completely gutted. The deceased driver belonged to Adilabad district in Tela...
