Visakhapatnam, June 16 -- South Coast Railway General Manager Sandeep Mathur on Tuesday assessed the zone's preparedness for the ensuing monsoon season at a meeting attended by Principal Heads of Departments.

Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of the four divisions-Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntakal and Guntur-participated through video conferencing.

In view of the approaching monsoon and the potential risks posed by overgrown vegetation, the General Manager directed the officials to undertake systematic cutting, trimming and notching of trees located near railway tracks and Overhead Equipment (OHE).

These measures are aimed at preventing disruptions to train services and ensuring operational safety during adverse weather conditions.
