Visakhapatnam, Aug. 30 -- The State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has accorded administrative sanction for a Rs 400-crore action plan for the comprehensive development of roads and associated infrastructure within the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Commissioner said around 205 km of existing gravel and Water Bound Macadam (WBM) roads in high- and medium-density areas across GVMC limits would be upgraded into Bituminous (BT) or Cement Concrete (CC) roads under the action plan.

The works would also include end-to-end pavements and associated infrastructure, he said.
