Vijayawada, April 23 -- Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday welcomed the groundbreaking of a 6.5 GW solar wafer and ingot manufacturing facility by ReNew Energy Global in Anakapalli, describing it as a key step in positioning the state as the "Silicon Coast of India."In a post on X, Lokesh said the project signalled Andhra Pradesh's intent to move beyond renewable energy deployment into high-value manufacturing, particularly in critical segments such as wafers and ingots.
