Visakhapatnam, Sept. 24 -- The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has intensified relief and restoration operations across the city as heavy rains continue, with officials directed to remain on high alert and prioritise the safety of people and property.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg inspected several rain-affected areas until midnight on Wednesday and reviewed the situation.
At Facor Layout, where a compound wall collapsed, he directed Engineering and Sanitation officials to take immediate safety measures and shift residents to safer locations if required.
