Anantapur, Oct. 16 -- In a tragic incident, five women were drowned in the Gollapalli reservoir near Penukonda in Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday.
Police said that a group of people went to the reservoir on a joy trip. Some of them ventured into the reservoir for a bath and drowned.
The deceased were identified as Pushpa, Gayatri, Haseena, Mahin and Hashini.
The bodies were retrieved from the reservoir. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem. A pall of gloom descended at the government hospital with grieving relatives and friends of the deceased.
