Kakinada, Feb. 25 -- Ex-MP G V Harsha Kumar has blamed the government for its complacency in taking action against the erring officials for adulteration of milk which claimed five deaths in Rajahmundry so far.
He told media persons on Wednesday that it was mandatory that the food safety officials should inspect the milk centers every three months but for years together there seems is no such practice.
The food safety department officials evade their responsibility by saying they were understaffed and there has been no recruitment for years together, especially after the division of the combined East Godavari district, he said.
