Vijayawada, Sept. 11 -- Andhra Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) S Abdul Nazeer has said a 'Centre of Buddhist Studies' should be established in the varsity campus.
The Governor participated as Chief Guest at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Acharya Nagarjuna University on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that ANU has undergone a remarkable transformation from a PG Centre of Andhra University in 1967, to a full-fledged University in 1976, and later evolving into a prominent centre of higher education, research and academic excellence in Andhra Pradesh. The Governor said that establishing a Centre for Buddhist Studies would be a befitting tribute to the great philosopher.
