Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), Aug. 22 -- An eight-year-old boy from Sanjamala village in Kurnool district has recovered from severe acute kidney injury following a snakebite after undergoing intensive care and haemodialysis at KIMS Cuddles, Kurnool, doctors said.
The boy, identified as Rithik, was bitten by a snake on his left leg while playing near his house.
A tight tourniquet was applied around the affected limb for several hours and he was subsequently given local traditional treatment, doctors said in a release here on Saturday.
Over the next 24 hours, his urine output declined significantly and he developed swelling and rapid breathing.
