Vijayawada, June 16 -- Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha has said that the crime rate in the State has come down by 14.1 percent thanks to the use of technology, efficient surveillance systems, scientific investigation methods, and improved inter-departmental coordination.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat in Amaravati, near here, on Tuesday, the Home Minister said there was considerable success in preventing crimes by implementing "invisible policing" through CCTV cameras, drones, AI-based analytics, and digital surveillance systems.
She said that measures were being taken to increase conviction rates by monitoring the movements of criminals, rapidly gathering evidence, and expediting action.
