Vijayawada, April 10 -- The Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken swift and proactive measures on several issues concerning child welfare and protection in the State, Commission Chairperson Vetukuri AVS Suryanarayana Raju said on Friday.

As part of activities carried out between April 2 and 9, the Commission ensured uninterrupted LPG supply to childcare institutions, schools, and welfare hostels by alerting Civil Supplies authorities to prevent any shortages.

Referring to a case of sexual assault on a tribal minor girl in Hiramanadalam, Pathapatnam (Srikakulam district), he said Commission members P Naga Manasa, Ganga Suryanarayana, and Challa Madhusudana Rao conducted a field inquiry.
