Vijayawada, March 10 -- The All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF) on Tuesday demanded that the union government restore concessional railway passes for accredited journalists in the country.

In a statement, AINEF National Vice-President Chaladi Purnachandra Rao noted that the Railway Minister had announced the cancellation of concessional railway passes for journalists due to COVID-19 in March 2020, and the facility has not been restored so far.

He said that journalists in the country had secured railway passes after a long struggle, but the Railways had deprived them of the facility, which is unjust, he regretted.
