Vijayawada, Aug. 17 -- As many as eight fishermen, who ventured out into the sea in a mechanized boat, have gone missing and a massive search has been launched.
According to the family members, the fishermen cast off from Odalarevu village of Allavaram mandal in Konaseema district on August 3. The family members have since lost contact with them. The fishermen were expected to reach the fishing harbour on August 13 but did not come. The family members lodged a complaint with the marine police and fisheries department officials on Monday.
Out of the missing fishermen, five are from the Allavaram village and three from bolusutippa village of I Polavaram mandal.
