Eluru, March 6 -- In a major crackdown on narcotics trade, 598 KGs of ganja worth over Rs 2.99 crore has been seized at Tatiyakulagudem village on the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border. Two drug peddlers from Odisha have been arrested, Inspector B Venkateswara Rao told the media here on Friday.

A team led by sub-inspector V Krathi Kumar conducted a check of vehicles on the highway 516 on Thursday night. A DCM van was spotted going towards Aswaraopet from Jangareddygudem. When the van was checked, 598 KGs of ganja was found neatly packed in carton boxes. The consignment was being taken to Maharashtra. The police seized the ganja and two mobile phones.
