Vijayawada, Sept. 10 -- The Andhra Pradesh government is setting up 21 new Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres (NRCs) across the state for malnourished children, adding 175 beds to hospitals, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said on Thursday.

In a statement here, Yadav said the new centres would include eight 10-bed NRCs, seven five-bed integrated NRCs and six more 10-bed centres, which would become operational in phases.

Once functional, the new centres would increase the total number of NRCs in the state from 21 to 42 and the bed capacity from 340 to 515.

"A total of Rs 4.42 crore has been allocated for NRCs in 2026-27 to cover infrastructure, staff capacity building, incentives for ASHA workers and operational expenses," Yadav said. ...
