Visakhpatnam, Oct. 25 -- A total of 15 candidates are in the fray for the Mayor's post in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Second General Elections-2026, Returning Officer B. Dayanidhi announced on Sunday.
In a press release, Dayanidhi said 29 nominations were received for the post, of which eight were rejected and 21 were found valid. Six candidates subsequently withdrew their nominations on October 21, leaving 15 candidates in the contest.
The final list of candidates was announced on October 25 in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission's notification dated October 22, 2026.
