Bhubaneswar, June 19 -- The All Odisha Swasthya Mitra Association (AOSA) on Friday strongly opposed the Odisha government's decision to retrench 993 Swasthya Mitra and warned of launching a large-scale agitation, including street protests, from June 22 if the decision is not withdrawn.

Addressing a press conference, AOSA President Ritaanjali Behera and Secretary Manas Kumar Lenka said the affected Swasthya Mitra have been serving the state's health care system with dedication for the past eight years and termed the retrenchment decision unjust.
