Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 11 -- Questions over the supervision of newborns at a government hospital in Haryana's Sirsa have surfaced after relatives of a four-day-old baby recorded a video showing ants around the child's bed and alleged that staff were not present in the ward at the time.
The baby had been admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) after developing breathing problems. His family later decided to take him home following the incident, according to relatives.
The child's mother, Lavjeet, said she went to the ward at around midnight to feed her son, who was born on August 7. She said she noticed ants on and around the baby and immediately picked him up and removed the insects.
