Lucknow, June 27 -- A campaign to administer anti-polio drops to 3.30 crore children aged zero to five years in Uttar Pradesh will begin from Sunday.
On the first day, the drops will be administered at approximately 1.10 lakh booths. From Monday onwards, 70,000 teams and 35,000 supervisors will conduct a door-to-door drive to administer the anti-polio drops.
Director General of Family Welfare, Dr. H.D. Agarwal, stated that while the state has remained polio-free for the past 16 years, three cases of polio have been reported in Pakistan and Afghanistan this year.
"Consequently, we need to remain fully vigilant, as the risk of infection persists until the world is completely polio-free," Agarwal said.
