Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 18 -- Kerala has constituted a specialised Anti-Narcotic Investigation Team to probe high-value drug trafficking cases with interstate and international links as part of the second phase of Operation Toofan, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said on Friday.

The new team, which began functioning on September 18, will undertake focused and scientific investigations into major narcotics smuggling cases and trace the sources of drug supply networks, the Minister said at a press conference here.

The team is headed by Toofan nodal officer and North IG P. Vimaladitya and has three units based in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. Each unit will have 10 police personnel, including a DySP, two Circle Inspectors, ...
