Bhubaneswar, July 24 -- Odisha Police secured a major conviction in the 2024 Angul gang rape case, with a Fast Track Special Court in Angul sentencing all four accused to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment for the sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman and a minor girl.

The Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court), Angul, on Friday convicted the four accused under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Besides the prison term, the court also imposed fines on each of the convicts under the relevant provisions of law.
