Paris, June 6 -- Mirra Andreeva became the youngest women's player to win at Roland-Garros since Monica Seles in 1992 as she captured her maiden Grand Slam title in emphatic fashion on Saturday, defeating Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska in the women's singles final at Roland-Garros 2026.
The 19-year-old world No. 8 beat Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 on Court Philippe-Chatrier to seal her first major crown, recovering from an early deficit before taking complete control of the contest.
Chwalinska made a strong start and led 3-2 in the opening set, using variety and depth to trouble the higher-ranked Andreeva in the early exchanges. However, once the Russian found her rhythm, the momentum shifted decisively.
