Tridib BaparnashNew Delhi, July 30 -- India celebrated one of its finest moments in para athletics history at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday as Dilip Mahadu Gavit and Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath delivered a historic one-two finish in the men's 100m T47 final.
While Gavit sprinted to gold in a Games record time of 10.71 seconds, Basil followed him home in 10.83 seconds to claim silver, giving India a memorable double podium in Glasgow. England's Kevin Santos took the bronze in 10.85 seconds.
The gold was India's third at the Glasgow Games, following Mirabai Chanu's victory in the women's 48kg weightlifting event and Sharmila Dhankar's triumph in the women's shot put F57 para athletics category.
