Kolkata, May 26 -- With the Centre intensifying its focus on border security and infiltration, union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit West Bengal in June to review the implementation of the government's "detect-delete-deport" policy and assess security arrangements along the India-Bangladesh border.

The Centre has adopted a three-pronged strategy to identify infiltrators, remove their names from official records and facilitate deportation.

According to sources in the union Home Ministry, the process has already begun in Bengal and other border states. Shah's upcoming visit is being viewed as part of a larger national exercise to tighten border surveillance and prevent demographic changes caused by illegal immigration.
