Kolkata, May 8 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata on Friday morning to oversee the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) legislature party meeting that will elect Bengal's next chief minister.
The BJP swept the West Bengal elections, winning 207 out of the 293 assembly constituencies in the state.
Bengal has 294 assembly seats and repolls are scheduled in the South 24 Parganas's Falta constituency on May 21.
Shah landed at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at around 11.10 a.m.
