Mumbai, July 8 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday spoke with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the phone to review the situation arising from heavy rainfall in various parts of the state.

During the conversation, Shah sought detailed information on the relief and rescue operations underway in the affected areas, as well as the measures being taken to ensure the safety of residents.

He said the Central Government is closely monitoring the rainfall situation in Maharashtra and remains in constant touch with the state government.

He also expressed confidence that all concerned agencies are working in close coordination to provide immediate assistance to those affected.
