Chennai, Aug. 8 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Chennai on Saturday on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring union Territory of Puducherry and offered prayers at Ramana Maharishi Ashram and darshan at Lord Arunachaleeswarar Temple--a famous temple for Lord Shiva this evening.
He participated in the ongoing Aadipooram Brahmotsavam celebrations and in the special abhishekam and offered prayers at the temple, regarded as one of the Panchabhootha Sthalams, where Lord Shiva appeared in the form of pillar of fire.
Mr Amit Shah, who arrived from Mumbai, was accorded a warm reception by the leaders of the BJP and the AIADMK, heading the NDA in Tamil Nadu.
