Bengaluru, April 3 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bengaluru on Friday evening to attend a religious programme at the BGS Medical College, even as his visit is being closely watched in the backdrop of the upcoming Karnataka by-elections.
The April 9 by-elections to the Davangere South and Bagalkot Assembly constituencies have added political significance to the visit.
In Bagalkot, BJP candidate Veeranna Charanthimath is contesting against Congress nominee Umesh Meti, while in Davangere South, BJP's Srinivas Dasakariyappa is pitted against Congress candidate Samarth Mallikarjun Shamnur.
