Mumbai / London, July 17 -- Bollywood actor Aamir Khan today corrected the "misconception" that many Indians grew up with the character of Phunsukh Wangdu or Rancho from the 2009 blockbuster "3 Idiots" was inspired by education reformer, scientist and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk.
During an interaction at the London Indian Film Festival, Khan said the makers of 3 Idiots had no knowledge of Wangchuk when the film was conceived. "That is a misconception. I didn't know about Sonam Wangchuk at that time, while we were working on the film 3 Idiots. I recently saw the video of Chatur. He is wrong. Maybe that is what Chatur was thinking.
