New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Former Uttar Pradesh minister Amir Alam Khan and former legislator Nawazish Alam Khan were among several political leaders and public figures from different parties who joined the Congress on Wednesday, in a move that adds up to the party's organisational outreach in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the assembly elections.
Leaders from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), besides social workers and other public figures, also joined the Congress.
