Srinagar, June 10 -- Amid the unrest in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) that left over a dozen people dead and several injured, Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday urged the authorities there to address public grievances through dialogue instead of force.
In a post on X, Mirwaiz said he was "deeply disturbed" by the developments across the Line of Control (LoC), where protests turned violent, leaving several civilians and police personnel dead and many others injured.
"The killing of more than a dozen protesting civilians and police personnel is extremely sad. The Government there should know better than to use force to handle public grievance and demands in this manner," he said.
