Chennai, May 15 -- Apprehensive of losing the membership of the House under the anti-defection law for following voting in favour of the confidence motion of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK president Joseph Vijay, in violation of the party whip, the AIADMK rebels on Friday pleaded party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) to call them for a dialogue to settle the differences.
Of the total 47 MLAs, 25 rebels voted in favour of the government, while the 22 MLAs of EPS group voted against it in the confidence vote, which Vijay won rather comfortably securing 144 votes in his support, with 22 Opposing and five abstaining, with a total of 171 members present in the House at the time of voting (the main Opposition DMK having 59 memb...
