Prayagraj, July 13 -- The Allahabad High Court has postponed the hearing in the case of the Uttar Pradesh government's appointment of gram pradhan as administrators after a delay in holding the 3-tier Panchayat elections.
The court on Monday stated that a double bench in the Lucknow bench of the High Court is hearing the case. Therefore, a hearing in a single bench of the High Court is not possible at this stage.
The hearing was held by a single bench headed by Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery.
The UP government's decision to appoint village heads as administrators has been challenged through separate petitions filed by one Raj Kumari Devi of Ballia and Arvind Rathore of Saharanpur. Both petitions have been clubbed together.
