Prayagraj, Sept. 9 -- The Allahabad High Court has taken strong exception to the alleged illegal detention of four people for 10 days at a police station in Deoria and directed that compensation of Rs 65,000 be paid from the salary of the Station House Officer (SHO).

SP Deoria Abhijeet R. Shankar and Gauri Bazar SHO appeared before the High Court on Wednesday following summons issued by the court.

The hearing took place before a division bench headed by Justice Atul Shridharan.
