Prayagraj, Aug. 1 -- The operators of Ahuja Hospital received major relief from the Allahabad High Court in the infamous kidney transplant case of Kanpur, with the court granting bail to doctor couple Dr Surjeet Singh Ahuja and his wife Dr Preeti Ahuja.
A single bench of Justice Vivek Verma granted bail to the couple on Friday.
An FIR was registered at the Rawatpur police station in Kanpur on March 31 in connection with the kidney transplant case.
Kanpur police had busted an alleged illegal kidney transplant racket at Ahuja Hospital in Rawatpur. A dozen people, including the doctor couple, were arrested and sent to jail in the case.
